important stuff to know about hal

Age: 526. Ish. (I did the math wrong in my head on the app. Yes, I suck.)
Height: I don't actually know.
Weight: Not underweight.
Medical Info: Hal has died and come back as a vampire. This means that he's supposed to be sensitiveish to light, but Being Human dropped that pretty fast. So I'm not sure. He's old, though, so it doesn't matter either way. As a vampire, he lacks a pulse and desires blood pretty badly, but Hal should not have blood.
Eyes: Hazel-y brown.
Hair: Light brown.
Physical traits: He has a burn on his right arm. When he "vamps out," his eyes go black and he has fangs.
What's Okay To Mention Around Him/Her: No metagaming him, as it will mess with his already unstable condition. I might lift this, but right now, Hal is an incredibly unstable person. Any references to knowing his deeper motivations and intentions, his past, etc. even through just knowing stuff might not go over well. I'll keep in communication with other players. Furthermore, discussions of blood, how it's okay to embrace that side, and so forth are iffy but not off limits, as he is quite literally an addict. Be prepared for the thread not doing well under these conditions.
Abilities: Vampires in Being Human are unusual in that they're actually quite weak! They need sleep, don't have super speed, or strength, or anything. So, this is what Hal can do:

- Rapid healing unless he has werewolf blood on him. He can recover from gunshots and the like.
- His eyes go black and he acquires fangs when he vamps out.
- He can sense if someone is a ghost, werewolf, or vampire. If you would prefer him not to be able to tell that your character is a vampire (which is the most relevant, I think), drop me a line. He also has a vast array of knowledge of other creatures, but he doesn't have the ability to sense them.
- Eat human food and drink

Notes for the Psychics/Magically or Spiritually sensitive: Hal is a vampire! So he's died and come back. The lore for vampires is a little weird in Being Human, so feel free to ask. I think someone would be able to read his mind and so forth.

Also Hal has a ... thing about women. I'm not going to go into it because the show is vague, but he is more prone to attacking them. Thus, he's much more uncomfortable around them.

As for his mindset, he is like a dog that has a collar tightened much too tight ... and he's the one who set it that way. He's constantly trying to keep himself calm. Mantras are the way to go and he's incredibly neurotic. He likes to clean. He dislikes disorder. He's not very trusting of other people. He is trying to suppress an addiction to blood that kind of controls his life. These are things that are constants for him. I'll be doing my own things as Hal's player to try and get him into a set routine, but camp is severely going to mess with him.

The one thing I can mention is that Hal is actually far more capable of control than he gives himself credit for. In my read of him, he could handle the messed up nature of camp if forced, and that is what I am going to be working toward.

Can I shapeshift/bodyswap/spit at/step on/etc?: Ask for the appropriate. If it is spitting on him ... ask still, actually. His disposition changes erratically when things go out of order, and I want to be sure I'm prepared to play that change of mind. (By all means I will always say yes, but I want to be ready!)
Hugging/kissing/other non-violent physical contact: Nooooo. Unless he trusts you. And even then. If you are a woman, this is especially no at this time.
Maim/Murder/Death: Let's talk.
Other: My Email is prongster at if we are ever threading and it seems like things could seriously turn the chaotic way. I am, again, going to do things on my end to get Hal in order and I'm going to do my best to communicate with people. He is someone who can be contained and set on a rigid schedule, but he is definitely one of the harder characters I've played when it comes to this.
